Random happenings in the Johnson home

This past Friday Ky took his scouts camping at Joshua Tree.
Kylie having some popcorn and copying how her dad was sitting.

Kylie loves to help me cook so I decided to make her an apron. I used this tutorial Here. I didn't have the rings so I made a tie instead.

Kylie and I were doing something and noticed Mads was nowhere to be found. We went in the Kitchen and found this...she has figured out where the snacks are and thought she would help herself. We were cracking up. Of course Kylie had to try it too.

While I was taking my shower I left the girls in their room to play. When I came out I found Kylie decided to have a photo shoot. There were many more pictures, but I thought these were good ones of Kylie's eye and Maddie's mouth. I guess she is discovering her talents.

Whenever I go to get Maddie after her nap this is what I find...

Aunt Kelsey came to VIsit!!!!!!

My sister Kelsey came to see us over President's Day weekend. It was such a blessing. January was such a hard month for me. The excitement of Christmas was gone and the reality that I am so far (I know not really, but it feels like it) from my family sunk in. Moving has been extremely hard for me. Of course I love Yucaipa and the people are all friendly and Ky's parents and sister are close, but making friends does not come easy for me. The Legacy Apartments made it sooooooo easy...you just had to step outside and you had friends. Here it takes Mega effort which isn't always my strength. Sometimes I feel like I'm in this bubble world with only me, Kylie, and Mads and in the evening Ky. I'm one of those people that thrive on craziness, excitement, adventure, schedules, etc. I haven't had much of that here. Wow this is starting to sound like a pity party. What I 'm trying to say is Kels came at the perfect time for me. Since her visit things have just been better. A few of Kyle's old High School friends and I started a mom's group every week which has been so much fun for both me and the girls, we have been trying to invite people over at least every other week, and it seems to be helping a lot in the friend department. We are still looking for a house and I have a feeling it will be around the corner. We (Kyle) are being very picky as to which house we are going to get because I'm pretty sure it will be the one we live in forever. House hunting is sooooooo fun yet sooooooo stressful at the same time. Really I have no complaints and being a mom really is the greatest thing and moving has been the right thing for us.
Ok back to Kelsey here are a few pics from her visit.

Aunt Kel Kel gave them rides in the laundry basket.

Kylie get her nails painted...which she loves....by Kelsey

Don't mind the unfolded laundry in the back. My baby is looking so big...sniff...sniff. She finally got her first tooth at 13 months.

Kels took some pics for me of the girls wearing their fruit candy cane outfits. I was planning on having them wear what was underneath, but it was too cold.

Birthday Bash:)

I have millions of pictures and have been putting this off, but I guess I will get started. Here are a few pictures from Kylie and Maddie's B-day party with the fam. We celebrated there birthday's on Maddie's real b-day since she turned 1! The picture of Kylie with the candles was taken on her actual b-day (She got two celebrations) Kylie loooooooooooved opening presents and I think she wishes it was her birthday everyday. We got her a doodler (secretly I got it because I love those things and knew we would be doing it a lot together...and we do). Her Aunt Bonnie made her a cat pillow pet that she sleeps with every night. She got color wonder markers from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson which are awesome...they only show up on special paper. We gave Mads a squishy soccer, b-ball, and football (ok another present that I really got for myself they are sooooo fun to throw at Kyle) I also got them to start brain washing her earlier.

Kylie is definitely my girly girl. I had this magazine from the rec. center and I was asking Kylie if she would rather do soccer or basketball she said basketball...but then I turned the page and she saw little girls dancing and that was that. She said I want to dance. I'm like are you sure you don't want to play basketball.....NO dance....basketball....dance....oh well. Not that we are signing her up to do these things yet. I definitely want my kids to do what they love and not what I love, but it doesn't hurt to brainwash a little...right? Sorry random tangent.

Let's see....oh yeah b-day.....so Mad's starting crying when we shut off the lights and started singing happy birthday. Once she tasted the cupcake, however she loved it. Kylie of course had already been asking all day about eating hers. We had a fun casual night.

I just had to throw this one in. Kylie is no longer taking naps, but we will rest on the couch together. This day she actually fell asleep.
