Russia

No we are not moving to Russia. For our homeschool group we are studying countries around the world. Every couple of weeks we do a different country. Right now we are learning about Russia. Kylie and Mads wanted to start out with learning about what kinds of food they eat. We decided to do a Russian themed dinner with potato pancakes, fried cabbage, and apple sauce. For dessert we had sharlotka cake (apple cake). Kylie's favorite was the potato pancakes, Mads the applesauce, and Phoebe the cake. Kylie and Maddie did not like the cake. They had fun making it though.

Fun picks before dinner.

We decided to make one big potato pancake for ease of cooking.

January You Start the Year off Fine!

Hey everyone I'm back! I know it has been an entire year without blogging. I don't know what happened...maybe life...maybe laziness...maybe I kept thinking I would catch up and never did. Oh well here is to a new year. I'm not even going to try to fill in what happened last year too much. I will just add one thing I decided to homeschool Kylie. She started kindergarten at McKinley the same school where Kyle went. We loved her teacher, she loved her teacher, and we loved the school. We had just gotten into the routine and General Conference rolls around. Crazy things happen during GC. This past one I happened to get a pretty big prompting to homeschool. I was like WHAT...NO...CAN'T...Sorry. However it was all I could think about the rest of the day and by evening I knew that's what I was going to do. My thought was to have her stay another month and plan out what I wanted to do, but then I talked to my sister-in-law Bonnie and she said why? and then I thought why? So Monday she didn't go to school. Don't worry I emailed her teacher the night before and made sure to let her know it wasn't her! Of course I have had all the thoughts and feelings that go along with homeschooling, but I know that the spirit will not lead me astray. It has been amazing thus far (which I know hasn't been that long). I have an amazing group I am apart of and we just love it. We are still in Redlands and loving it. Our ward is fantastic and I just love being in Primary! I also just got another call to be the Stake YW's camp secretary. (basically paperwork lol). I haven't done anything with YW's since I was in it so this will be a lot of fun. Kyle is in the YM's presidency now and enjoys doing that. I don't want to bore you with too many words so here are some pics.
We started out the year with snow! Ok Redland's didn't get any, but we drove to Yucaipa and enjoyed it there. We had a fun time eating snow, throwing snow, making angels, one very small snowman, and some makeshift sledding on a piece of cardboard we found.

I'm not sure if she was trying to imitate the snowman or not....

This one cracks me up!

Kylie was eating snow in this picture and had some remnants on her face!

She would not smile for me!
