Sep. 29th

 

Today I went to the Temple this morning. I really needed it. I brought my camera along and when I opened up my camera bag...that's right my camera was nowhere to be found. So I think this is from the lds.org website. It looked just as pretty this morning. It was a very spiritually filled day. I loved the General Relief Society broadcast and the chocolate fondue my stake had before. It was a really great day.

Sep. 28th

 We finally went to the Redland's library. Kylie got her first card and wouldn't give it to me until she had checked out her books. I forgot to take a picture with her new card. Right by the library there is a Lincoln Memorial. We were enjoying the fountain right outside. We will check out the memorial another day. They got the coloring sheets in the library and I just happened to have some crayons in the diaper bag.

I love this one. They sat there awhile just looking at the water.

While I was washing dishes they were both sitting at the picnic table playing so contently. By the time I got the camera Maddie got up. It was one of those good mom moments.

Sep. 27th

 

This picture looks familiar...oh wait it is. I just started working out again. I walked in circles...Mads attempted to follow and Kylie rode her trike. I also did some picnic table step ups and the cheating push ups. I felt worked out. I don't know if that is a good thing.

Sep. 26th

Kylie looks like she is going to the bathroom here...I promise she's not.

Whenever she sees the camera she starts saying "cheeeese."

Kylie wanted to take some pictures. Good thing otherwise I wouldn't have any. She took all of them besides the one with her in it. She wanted to make sure to get the dirt pile.

I had my first Dr. apt. at 17 weeks it was such a relief to hear the baby's heartbeat. Since I am going out of town the end of next week I get to find out boy/girl next Tue! (Even though let's face it I already am pretty sure it is a girl!)

Wow I skipped a few days and of course did not take many pictures. I actually found this pic online. This has been our home this week. We have been enjoying some beautiful weather at the park. Monday we went with our friends and had a great time.

I thought I would dedicate today's post to my baby sister Katelyn. We had the Elders over for dinner and it made me think of her and what she might be doing at that moment in Honduras. She is also coming home Oct. 4th! Crazy how fast time goes by. These are some pictures she sent us over the Summer. The top one is with a family that got baptized, next one with her companion and the other was a tarantula they found greeting them outside of their apartment. I know she is sad to be almost over, but we are all super excited!!!!!!!!!

Sep. 22nd

Ok- so I skipped the 21st. We deep cleaned the house all day and I had no energy left at the end (Nothing too exciting). Today we enjoyed the first official day of Fall with beautiful weather and a car wash!

Sep. 20th

We went to McDonald's today with some friends. The play area was designed for kids more Kylie's age. She had a blast. Maddie and Dean were to small to climb up themselves so Shelby and I helped them out. Needless to say they only went through it twice. It definitely was not designed for Mom's to play in.

Sep. 18th

We used the leftover beef from the sandwiches to make baked taquitos. They weren't amazing, but they were good. I didn't have the chipotle chili or the green chilies and I think next time I would use a stronger tasting cheese. I used queso fresco.

For Family Home Evening we decided to start using the nursery manual. They are short and to the point and its perfect for my girls.

Sep. 16th

Sorry no pictures today...a picture a day gets hard. It has been a lot of fun however. Today was a happy sad day. Happy because it was Sunday and I got to teach my new CTR 5 class. Can I say I love primary! I had soooooo much fun with them today. I wasn't sure what I would think or how I would like it. I have been a ward missionary for the majority of my time since I left home at 18 (not all in the same ward). Since I moved to California I taught the 13 turning 14 class which I absolutely loved and now I get the 5 year olds (They act about the same level so easy transition). We also went to Hemet for dinner with Aunt Bonnie and her family (I wish I would have brought the camera to take pics. of Kylie and Mads having a blast with their cousins. Oh well.) It was sad today, because I really missed my family. I think I realized or it hit home that we would probably never just go over to one of my sisters or bro or parents house for a Sunday dinner. I cried for a half an hour thinking about it. Pathetic I know. We are just soooooo close and I miss everyone so much. However, I am grateful to have Kyle's family close they save me. Overall it was a bittersweet day.

Sep. 15th

Today I tried a knew recipe that was pretty tasty. Head over to Our Best Bites for the recipe. I am trying to cook new things for some variety in our diet...plus I decided cooking is a lot of fun (most days).

Sep. 14th

We are having another heat wave. Instead of playing in water outside we decided to play in the sink. They had tons of fun and in the process made a huge puddle on the kitchen floor. Good thing it's not carpet:)

Sep. 13th

This is how Maddie folds her arms for prayer. She lasts about 10 sec. before she runs off. The homemade gummy snacks were so so. I don't know if I would make them again. Fun to try.

Sep. 12th

I didn't take any pictures today, but I am about to make these gummy fruit snack things. I got the recipe here and will let you know how they turn out tomorrow. It was such a beautiful day today. We finally got a break from the extreme heat. We played outside all morning enjoying the great day!

Sep. 11th

I was going to post a picture from a baby shower I helped throw today, but forgot to bring the card to my camera. Then I remembered what day it was today and I thought this picture was much more significant. I'm so proud to be an American!

Getting ready to go to church. In the second picture Kylie wanted to bend over to be closer to Maddie's height, but of course Maddie has to do whatever Kylie is doing.

Sep. 8th

For my birthday I got this water table. My old neighbor inspired me. Some of you might be thinking that's not a present for you, but let me tell you that it is. An hour of entertainment for my girls while I get something done...priceless:) Plus it's fun for me to watch them play.

Sep. 7th - I'm now 29!

I decided I'm not much of a cake person, but I love donuts...especially the kind with white frosting and sprinkles...so that was my birthday cake. Plus then there are no leftovers. I had a great birthday. Kyle's parents were in for the night. They watched the girls while Kyle and I went out on a date. All in all a good day. (don't mind shirtless child)

Sep. 6th

We had a play date with some friends and the girls had a good time in the sand.

Kylie get's to watch cartoon's while Maddie takes her nap. Maddie woke up before she finished and had to copy Kylie's position. Of course Kylie had to move her hands for the pic.

They didn't get dirty enough in the sand.

Sep. 5th

Kylie had a little milk stash after a refreshing glass of milk.

                                   Our new VAN! I am loving it. It is so nice having two vehicles.

Sep. 4th

This was the only picture I got today. Maddie was playing outside in the water and would come over and rub it all over the door and then rub her head. She found it very entertaining.

September 3rd

Two pics for today. The one up top the girls were enjoying the swing while grandpa and daddy were working in the garage. The second pic was Mads after our BBQ. She really enjoyed the ketchup. You can't tell but it is rubbed all in the little hair that she has. We had a fun and beautiful Labor Day with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson.

Yellowstone

I decided to do a family picture of us at Yellowstone. Kylie has a cheesy grin and they are both looking at something else. We had such a fun time with all of Kyle's family. My brother Joe and sister Rachel came down for a day. My bro took the family picture of everyone. I will have to post that on another day. Yes-we did see a herd of buffalo and it was awesome even if they were in the distance.

September- Photo a Day

I decided I'm going to do a picture a day for September. I got the idea from another friend's blog. Mine are just going to be random. This one was celebrating mine and Kyle's 5th anniversary! Him and the girls made me a Czech dish called halushky (a potato dumpling dish that is amazing) I'm starting to feel better so one day I will play catch up, but for now I will do the photo or photo's a day.
